Version 1.0 · Effective 1 September 2026
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters here. WorkTruth is designed to give people a safer way to talk about their experiences at work.
Privacy is fundamental to how WorkTruth works. What you tell WorkTruth privately is different from what you choose to contribute anonymously, and individual contributions are different again from the aggregated workplace insights WorkTruth may produce. This policy explains those differences and how we handle your information.
WorkTruth is currently offered in Bangladesh. You can use WorkTruth in English, বাংলা or a mix — the language you use is your choice.
1
Information we may collect
Depending on how you use WorkTruth, we may collect information including:
- workplace experiences you type or speak to WorkTruth;
- transcripts created from voice input;
- the workplace an experience relates to;
- workplace area or other context you choose to provide;
- whether you currently or previously worked at the workplace;
- an approximate timeframe for when an experience occurred;
- account information if you create an account;
- information needed to verify a workplace relationship if you choose to verify;
- information needed to operate, secure and improve WorkTruth, such as technical and security information.
You do not need to provide every type of information above to tell WorkTruth about an experience.
We aim to collect only information reasonably needed to provide and protect the service.
2
Speaking or typing to WorkTruth
You can tell WorkTruth what happened in your own words.
WorkTruth may use AI and other technology to transcribe, organise, classify and reflect back what it understands from your experience.
The reflection WorkTruth provides is an interpretation. It is not a factual finding, investigation or determination about what occurred.
Your raw experience is not automatically contributed to workplace intelligence.
You decide what happens next.
3
Keeping an experience private
If you choose “Keep this private”, your experience does not enter WorkTruth's anonymous contribution pipeline and does not influence public workplace signals.
Private experiences may be processed and stored as necessary to provide your private WorkTruth experience.
We do not turn a private experience into a workplace contribution simply because you told it to WorkTruth.
4
Contributing anonymously
If you choose “Contribute anonymously”, WorkTruth shows you a sanitised version of your experience before you contribute it.
The purpose of sanitisation is to reduce identifying information and other information that should not form part of an anonymous workplace contribution.
You decide whether to proceed.
An anonymous contribution may then be:
- moderated;
- classified;
- assessed for eligibility;
- combined with other independent contributions; and
- used to identify workplace-level patterns.
An individual anonymous contribution is not published as an individual workplace story.
5
Workplace signals
WorkTruth is designed to identify patterns across independent workplace experiences rather than publish individual allegations.
Workplace signals are subject to minimum contributor thresholds and other privacy and eligibility safeguards.
WorkTruth does not publicly display individual contributor counts, identities, work emails, raw stories or individual anonymous contributions as part of workplace signals.
Workplace signals represent patterns in contributed experiences. They are not findings of fact about an employer or individual.
6
Commercial use of workplace intelligence
WorkTruth is a commercial service.
Eligible anonymous contributions may help create aggregated, privacy-preserving workplace intelligence.
WorkTruth may publish or commercially provide aggregated workplace insights, analytics, benchmarking or related intelligence products and services.
We do not sell or commercially provide your raw private story, your work email, or an identifiable individual contribution as workplace intelligence.
Before you contribute anonymously, WorkTruth tells you that your sanitised contribution may be used for aggregated workplace intelligence, including commercial WorkTruth products and services.
Choosing to contribute is separate from agreeing to receive marketing communications.
7
Workplace verification
Workplace verification is optional unless WorkTruth clearly tells you otherwise for a particular feature.
If you choose work-email verification, your work email is used to verify your relationship with a workplace.
Your work email:
- is not shown publicly;
- is not displayed with your contribution;
- is not shared with your employer for verification;
- is not stored by WorkTruth as an email address — WorkTruth keeps only a one-way hash used to match your verification code, and the email domain as evidence that verification happened.
Verification supports confidence that a contributor has a workplace relationship.
It does not prove that an individual experience is true.
8
Professional-profile verification
WorkTruth may in future offer verification through a professional identity or profile provider.
This functionality is not currently active.
If introduced, this Privacy Policy and relevant notices will be updated to explain what information is exchanged and how it is used.
9
AI and automated processing
WorkTruth uses automated systems, including AI, for functions that may include:
- speech transcription;
- reflection and organisation of experiences;
- sanitisation;
- classification;
- moderation support;
- identification of workplace patterns.
Human review may also be used for moderation or other appropriate purposes.
Automated interpretation is not treated as proof that an allegation or experience is factually correct.
WorkTruth does not use its reflection or workplace-signal systems to adjudicate whether an individual's allegation is legally or factually proven.
10
Workplace and employment context
You may choose to provide contextual information such as:
- your workplace;
- whether you currently or previously worked there;
- approximately when an experience happened.
This helps WorkTruth interpret workplace intelligence responsibly.
For example, an experience submitted today about events several years ago should not automatically be presented as evidence of the workplace's current state.
WorkTruth does not publicly publish your individual employment history.
11
Information about other people
Workplace experiences can naturally include information about colleagues, managers or other people.
WorkTruth uses sanitisation and moderation controls designed to reduce unnecessary identification of individuals in contributed information.
Please avoid including personal information about another person unless it is genuinely necessary to explain your experience.
WorkTruth may remove or restrict information where needed to protect privacy, safety or the integrity of the service.
12
How we use information
We may use information as reasonably necessary to:
- provide WorkTruth;
- provide private reflection and experience-management features;
- transcribe voice input;
- process anonymous contributions;
- sanitise and moderate contributions;
- verify workplace relationships;
- prevent duplicate or manipulated contributions;
- maintain workplace directories;
- identify aggregated workplace patterns;
- maintain security and prevent misuse;
- improve the reliability and performance of WorkTruth;
- comply with legal obligations;
- create and provide aggregated workplace intelligence as described in this policy.
We do not use consent to anonymous contribution as consent for unrelated advertising or remarketing.
13
Service providers
WorkTruth may use trusted technology and service providers to operate parts of the service, such as hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, AI processing, security and analytics.
Those providers may process information on WorkTruth's behalf as necessary to provide their services.
WorkTruth uses appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect information handled through these services.
14
Overseas processing
Some technology providers used by WorkTruth may process or store information outside Bangladesh.
Where relevant, WorkTruth will provide appropriate transparency about cross-border processing and take reasonable measures to protect information.
15
Security
WorkTruth uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
WorkTruth deliberately separates private information and internal administrative information from public workplace outputs.
16
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is held, including providing WorkTruth, maintaining integrity and security, resolving disputes and meeting legal requirements.
Different types of information may require different retention periods.
Where information is no longer required, WorkTruth may delete or appropriately de-identify it, subject to legal, security and integrity requirements.
WorkTruth does not currently operate automatic time-based deletion of contributed or verification information.
17
Access, correction, deletion and withdrawal
Depending on the information involved and applicable law, you may be able to:
- request access to personal information WorkTruth holds about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of applicable personal information;
- withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
- raise a privacy concern or complaint.
In the product today you can: delete an individual experience kept privately in your Work Diary; withdraw anonymous contributions WorkTruth can recognise as yours, which stops them counting towards any workplace pattern and triggers recalculation of the affected pattern; and close your account, which deletes your private diary record.
Because a contribution is deliberately not linked to your identity, WorkTruth can only recognise contributions made in the same context. Any other withdrawal, and any request for access or correction, is handled by contacting WorkTruth Privacy.
A withdrawn contribution is retained in a non-public moderation record so the decision remains auditable. It is never published and never influences a workplace pattern again.
Some information may no longer be capable of being associated with an individual after it has been appropriately aggregated or de-identified.
WorkTruth will explain any applicable limitation when responding to a request.
18
Children
WorkTruth is intended for people participating in working life and is not designed for children.
19
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when WorkTruth, our technology or applicable requirements change.
The current version and effective date will always be displayed.
Where a material change requires a new acknowledgement or consent, WorkTruth will request it where appropriate.
20

If you have a privacy question, want to request access, correction or deletion, or want to make a privacy complaint, contact WorkTruth Privacy.
