Version 1.0 · Effective 1 September 2026
Terms of Use
WorkTruth is built around patterns, not individual allegations. These terms explain how WorkTruth may be used, and what it does and does not claim.
1
About WorkTruth
WorkTruth provides tools for people to privately describe workplace experiences and, where they choose, contribute sanitised information that may help identify aggregated workplace patterns.
WorkTruth does not operate as a court, regulator, employer investigation process or fact-finding service.
2
Using WorkTruth
You must use WorkTruth lawfully and in good faith.
When describing an experience, tell us what you genuinely experienced or understood to have occurred.
Do not deliberately submit false information or use WorkTruth to manipulate workplace signals.
3
Anonymous contributions
Choosing “Contribute anonymously” allows WorkTruth to process the sanitised contribution for moderation, aggregation and workplace-intelligence purposes.
Contribution does not guarantee that:
- the contribution will be approved;
- it will influence a workplace signal;
- a workplace signal will become publicly available.
WorkTruth may hold, reject, suppress or exclude contributions in accordance with its moderation, privacy, integrity and aggregation rules.
4
Individual allegations
WorkTruth is designed around patterns rather than publication of individual allegations.
Do not use WorkTruth to deliberately expose, threaten, harass, defame or target another person.
WorkTruth may sanitise, hold or remove information that creates unacceptable privacy, safety, legal or integrity risk.
5
Workplace signals
Public workplace signals represent aggregated patterns found across eligible independent experiences.
They are not findings that:
- an allegation is proven;
- a particular person acted unlawfully;
- an employer has breached a law;
- every employee has the same experience.
Users of workplace intelligence should interpret signals accordingly.
6
Verification
Verification may increase WorkTruth's confidence that someone has a relationship with a workplace.
Verification does not mean WorkTruth has verified the truth of an individual contribution.
Attempting to falsify or manipulate verification may result in contributions being excluded or access being restricted.
7
Licence to process contributions
You retain ownership of content you provide to WorkTruth to the extent applicable.
When you choose to contribute anonymously, you give WorkTruth permission to process, sanitise, moderate, classify, aggregate and use that contribution to operate WorkTruth and create workplace intelligence, including commercial workplace-intelligence products and services.
This permission does not give WorkTruth permission to publicly publish your raw private story as an individual workplace contribution.
8
Acceptable use
You must not use WorkTruth to:
- knowingly submit fabricated experiences;
- impersonate another person;
- manipulate contribution thresholds;
- coordinate fraudulent workplace signals;
- harass or threaten people;
- publish personal information for the purpose of exposing someone;
- attempt to identify anonymous contributors;
- interfere with WorkTruth's security or operation;
- use automated methods to abuse or manipulate the service.
9
Moderation
WorkTruth may use automated systems and human review to moderate contributions.
We may hold, reject, suppress or remove information where reasonably necessary to protect users, other people, WorkTruth or the integrity of workplace intelligence.
10
Private experiences
Choosing “Keep this private” means the experience does not enter the anonymous workplace-contribution pipeline.
Private features remain subject to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
11
Accounts
You are responsible for protecting access to your account.
Do not knowingly allow another person to use your account to misrepresent their identity or workplace relationship.
12
Availability and changes
WorkTruth is an evolving service.
Features may change as we improve privacy, safety, reliability and usefulness.
We may temporarily restrict features where required for security, maintenance or legal reasons.
13
Workplace intelligence
WorkTruth may provide aggregated workplace intelligence commercially.
Customers or other users receiving that intelligence do not receive a right through these Terms to access contributor identities, raw private stories or individual work-email verification information.
14
No professional advice
WorkTruth's reflections and workplace signals are informational.
They are not legal, employment, medical, psychological or other professional advice.
If you need professional assistance about a workplace situation, you should seek appropriately qualified support.
15
Suspension and misuse
We may restrict access or exclude contributions where we reasonably believe WorkTruth is being abused, manipulated or used in breach of these Terms.
16
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as WorkTruth evolves.
The current version and effective date will be displayed.
Material changes may require renewed acceptance where appropriate.
